Hear the Angels Sing

When I went to Bible school, one of my teachers played a unique cassette tape to the class. The story was that a few folks in a little church showed up early for choir practice and decided to record themselves singing. When they played the recording back to hear themselves, they could hear themselves singing, but then that was drowned out by “angels.” On the tape, you hear what sounds like “thousands upon thousands” of angels singing “Hallelujahs” and a lead singer sings:

Hallelujahs ringing all across the land,
Everybody’s singing at the Lord’s command,
All the saints and the angels up in glory wait to hear the news,
Of Jesus and His children as they’re coming through.

Here is a link to the recording. While the recording is garbled (it’s been copied a few thousand times on cassettes), it is still great. It takes about 2 minutes to hear the lead angel.

    Peter,
In light of your post, you may find this post [http://spirit-of-god.blogspot.com/2007/09/sound-of-mighty-rushing-wind.html] interesting. God’s ways are truly mysterious.

    slw,

Thank you for the link. Sounded like it is right out of the book of Acts. Makes you kind of wonder about those preachers who say all such manifestations have been done away with, but God can do anything He wants to.

Thanks so much for this. You are absolutely right - it makes me wonder whether such preachers who say manifestations have been done away with simply haven’t been exposed to - or heard this awesome kind of event where heaven joins in with the praises of the redeemed! I am so grateful this recording has been preserved so that we might hear it again in our day and our faith can rise that maybe we will hear it too again.

Dan, thanks so much for the comment. I was going to comment on your comment, but I don’t believe that I can add to anything you’ve said.
