Sometimes You’ve Just Gotta Laugh 2
Yesterday, after working hard on a federal appellate brief, I landed upon The Blog Readability Test and it just struck me as funny. Our law firm site, which just has a few short articles with some news links scored a genius reading level (haven’t had the time for any analysis), while The Real Faith with its references to Greek and many high-falutin’ theologians didn’t make it out of high school. I guess that’s proof positive that Bill O’Reilly fans really are as smart as they say they are.
And while I took a fun jab at Phil Cooke’s blog, it was really meant as an off-hand compliment. It takes real genius to communicate ideas in a way that an eleven year old can understand (which explains why I couldn’t find another junior high site).
When Jesus came to earth, he could have wowed us with discourses on quantum physics because, after all, he created quantum physics. But he didn’t do that. He preached spiritual realities in such a way that even five-year olds come into the knowledge of salvation by his words. While we may keep our law site on par with the Wylie E. Coyotes of the world (he was a super-genius, you know) because people like to hire lawyers they can’t understand, here at The Real Faith we want to be more like Phil.
