he Pope has ordered his bishops to set up exorcism squads to tackle the rise of Satanism and demon possession. Each bishop is to be told to have in his diocese a number of priests trained to fight demonic possession. You can read the story here.

It is interesting to note that many, if not most, Protestant denominations and theologians do not believe the literal accuracy of the scriptures when it comes to demonic personalities and demon possession. They attribute many of the Gospel and Acts accounts of demonic oppression and possession to various forms of mental illness.

One of the best books on the believer’s authority in relation to demonic oppression is Kenneth Hagin’s The Triumphant Church. I also recommend John MacMillan’s The Authority of the Believer.
