A Falling Away

Though I’m not too interested in this site’s statistics, it is interesting to see the chart. For a while I addressed the issue of whether tithing is actually New Testament Christianity. Blog activity shot up like a rocket. From the Google searches and forum links, you could see that tithing is a hot-button issue around the Body of Christ.

Since those days, I’ve moved over to End Times. While I haven’t yet gotten into seals, antichrists, or false prophets, I have emphasized Jesus’s return to planet earth and the fact of ultimate destruction for those who have spurned the Gospel. Looking to the graphs, you can see a big falling away. It appears that many folks are far more interested in their pocketbooks than in the eternal destiny of their neighbors.

One comment...What do you think?

I am very interested in what you have to say.
In the 1970’s there was an expectation of the Lord’s return, and concern for the lost. These days this subject has taken a back burner. Perhaps a some of the reason is the influence of dominianism in the church today.
